YOUNG fishing enthusiasts are being encouraged to learn angling techniques at a coaching day at Ladygrove Lake.
The training session, run by staff from the Environment Agency, takes place at the lake on Friday, August 16.
Agency spokesman Stuart Manwaring said the session, part of National Fishing Month, was specifically aimed at youngsters during the school holidays. He added: “Although aimed at kids, the fishing taster sessions are really for anyone who wishes to try their hand at angling, young or old, male or female.
“There will be five coaches on the day offering 30-minute sessions from 10am to 3pm.
“The lake at Ladygrove is an excellent venue for this activity as it is stuffed full of all kinds of fish and bites are guaranteed.
“We would like to thank Didcot Town Council for providing facilities on the day and making the lake available for us, and the Ladygrove Angling Club for the efforts they constantly put in to maintaining the lake.”
