WHAT is happening to our lovely old town of Abingdon?
Each day when I have my lunchbreak, I walk round to the precinct, and there in all its ‘glory’ is a long stretch of pavement, bordered by a few shops, and large areas of boarded-up buildings.
How depressing. Where are all the lovely tubs of flowers that used to grace the area? This is unlike the rest of the town, which has lovely floral displays.
All I see now is litter, goodness knows what stuck to the pavements, cigarette butts and the occasional stain of dog pee on a pillar.
Not too inspiring really and not an area that I would recommend to anyone to see. Come on, council, get your act together. If you want the ‘footfall,’ this is not the way to get it.
