ONE could argue that it would have been a dereliction of duty if off-duty police Detective Chief Superintendent Brendan O’Dowda had not stepped in to help the victim of an assault.
Some might have just turned a blind eye, but not this former head of police in Oxford.
His actions just go to show there’s no rest for the long arm of the law, and a reminder to others in ‘the job’ that they must act whether on duty or not.
