DAIRY farmer DAVID Christensen has had recent problems with hare coursing on his Kingston Bagpuize farm.

Hare coursing, which was made illegal in the Hunting Act 2004, is when dogs, usually lurchers or greyhounds, are made to chase after a hare and kill it.

Mr Christensen, pictured above, said: “The hare coursers cut the fence into a field with cattle in it and some of the cattle escaped.

“We have not had the thefts that some of my colleagues have had though. Any level of crime will affect your business. There is the disruption and the time which dealing with it takes. I think the police do take it seriously but it may be a question of resources.”
