A cyclist has been taken to hospital this morning after suffering serious injuries in an accident near Oxford.

The man was found lying in the road in Bayworth Lane, near Boar’s Hill, shortly after 7.15am.

South Central Ambulance spokesman Gill Hodgetts said staff were called to the scene after receiving reports of the man hitting his head after falling off his bike.

She said: “No vehicle was involved as far as we are aware.

“The man was found unconscious and his condition is serious, possibly life-threatening.”

The cyclist has been taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford for treatment.
