Sir – Re the booking fee at the Oxford Playhouse. If the fee is retained by the Playhouse for charitable purposes (Letters, May 23) surely it should be voluntary.
For the Playhouse director Michelle Dickson to say that without this ‘booking fee’ prices would increase by approximately £3 per ticket sounds like undue pressure.
The question was: what is the booking fee for if we pay cash for a ticket and go straight into the theatre? We still don’t know.
