I FEEL so sad that the city council is not doing more to protect the livelihoods of small shops in Headington.
There will be either a Tesco or Sainsbury’s store on every corner soon.
I am totally in support of both stores and use them both regularly but, come on, we will soon have no choice where we buy our goods, because all the small, quirky and really useful stores will have been pushed out of the market.
I don’t live in Headington but love a trip there now and then, as I am sure do others, but if there is nothing there but the same stores as everywhere else, we will become a city of supermarkets and nothing else.
Come on city council planning and back the Oxford local shops.
