A CHILD prostitution suspect has been rebailed again by police after spending more than a year on bail.
The 35-year-old from Garsington, who was arrested on suspicion of causing prostitution of girls under 18 in the first Operation Bullfinch raids in March 2012, answered bail on Monday and was told to return on July 26.
It comes after last month calls were made to limit the time suspects could be on bail without being charged.
Andy Trotter, Chief Constable of British Transport Police and media spokesman for the Association of Chief Police Officers, said it was wrong for suspects to be “left dangling” while officers investigated.
But Thames Valley Police spokesman Rhianne Pope yesterday said: “We keep people on bail as long as the criminal investigation requires and conduct regular reviews to make sure any rebails are relevant and necessary.”
Two other men, aged 34 and 30, have been released without charge.
