OXFORDSHIRE war veterans who served in Cyprus in the 1950s are the focus of a research project.
The Annual Study Day of the Friends of the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry will be held at Edward Brooks Barracks, Abingdon, on Saturday.
It will look at the Regiment’s operations in the Cyprus Emergency between 1956 and 1959.
The aim of the day is to gather material for an archive on the experiences of the members who took part in these operations.
Presentations will be made by Nick van der Bijl, author of The Cyprus Emergency, and by historical author Lt Col George Elliot.
Applications are first come- first served. Registration opens at 9.30am on the day and will end with tea at 4.30pm.
Lunch will be served and a cover charge for the day is £10.
