I AM sure the powers that be who are responsible for the maintenance of London Road, Headington, from the Green Road Roundabout never travel by bus to work in Oxford. If you don’t feel ill when you board the bus before Green Road, you certainly do when you arrive in Oxford.
The continual bumping and shaking from the uneven surface of the road (that needs urgent attention) must be a complete nightmare to all bus drivers especially, and makes all of us passengers both uncomfortable and bad-tempered when we arrive for a day’s work. This problem must be treated as a priority for the safety of all users of this road.
It is long overdue.
Money has been found for many other projects in the city, including major resurfacing of the pavements in Stanway Road, but not others in Risinghurst. London Road is a major route into the city – and what an example the county council has set, to let it get into the state that it is in, with no regard for the people using it.
I bet that they have never travelled this route themselves, or they would have done something ages ago. I would be interested to see how high on the agenda these urgent repairs are – and await a response with interest.
