A CARE home has launched a campaign to raise £30,000 for a new minibus that will take its residents on day trips.
Isis House in Donnington usually has to hire transport to take its 80 residents out.
Because of the cost of hiring minibuses, care home staff and volunteers decided to buy their own and began to fundraise, including a 15-mile sponsored walk around the city.
More than £800 in walk sponsorship has been donated and a total of about £1,700 raised so far.
Resident Pat Phipps, 82, said: “It would change the lives of the residents here at Isis House. We could go to the Cotswold Wildlife Park, the seaside and I really want to go to Monkey World in Dorset.”
