IT was lights out for a while yesterday afternoon when this articulated lorry crashed into a lamppost as it pulled out on to Barns Road, Cowley.
The driver appeared to be negotiating a fairly tight corner as it attempted to leave a loading area at the Templars Square Shopping Centre. Police were called to the “collision” near Between Towns Road at 1.54pm and the busy road was blocked for a number of hours causing delays in the area.
Engineers from Southern Electric were called to make the lamp safe and restore its electricity supply. Southern Electric spokesman Simon O’Loughlin said: “We arrived about 4pm to make it safe. No supply has been disrupted.”
The scene was cleared by 4.30pm and no-one was injured.
