ACTIVISTS have been busy preparing to make today’s Oxford Pride celebrations through the city the best ever.
Stalls and attractions were set up next to Oxford Ice Rink in Oxpens Road for the annual celebrations.
A parade will leave Cornmarket at noon and make its way to the field via Queen Street, New Road, Oxford Castle, Paradise Street and Norfolk Street.
There will be attractions including two music stages, an inflatable bungee run, climbing wall and rodeo bull, from 1pm to 8pm.
Spokesman Dave Legg said: “Our key theme this year is ‘not there yet’.
“We want to remind people why we have Pride. People say we have equality. “While we have some, there are things we don’t have yet.”
This includes the current bid for same-sex marriages, he said.
“The parade will be vibrant and colourful.”
