HELEN & DOUGLAS House has been celebrating national Volunteers’ Week and raising awareness of the ways to get involved with the charity.
The Oxford hospice, which offers support for children and young adults with life-shortening conditions, is taking part in the annual campaign which thanks the 20 million people who volunteer for charities across the UK each year.
A coffee morning was held at the Malmaison Hotel’s roof terrace in Oxford on Tuesday.
Forty hospice volunteers joined the celebrations.
Volunteer development manager Wendy Bridge, pictured right with volunteer co-ordinator Yvonne Davison, left, and volunteer receptionist Lesley Brown, centre, said: “It was a great opportunity to celebrate National Volunteers’ Week and thank the hundreds of volunteers who give their time to Helen & Douglas House.”
