A light aircraft has landed safely at Oxford Airport after developing a problem with its landing gear.
Firefighters were called to the airport near Kidlington at 11.52am today after receiving a mayday call from the aircraft.
The plane, believed to have three people on board, circled the runway before making an emergency landing at about 2.15pm.
Oxford Airport business development manager James Dyllon-Godfray said: “It’s landed now.
“It had left from here but turned back and was circling until the fuel was used up, which is standard procedure.
“The three people on board were all crew.
"It was a positioning flight going off to do a job somewhere else in the UK.”
