A STREET is hoping to create a bit more community spirit out of its problems with vandalism.
John Snow Place in Headington has set up a Neighbourhood Watch scheme to help residents tackle some of their problems with antisocial behaviour.
Resident Bill Lee, 82, said: “There have been problems in the area with damage to cars by vandals and that sort of thing.
“So we thought we would collaborate together and that having a Neighbourhood Watch sign would have a deterrent effect.
“It makes people think that the eyes of everyone will be on them.”
Dr Lee is a retired government scientist who has lived in John Snow Place since 1985.
He also hopes introducing the Neighbourhood Watch scheme will help residents get to know each other.
