A 40-YEAR-old man remains in police custody in relation to an attempted abduction in Rose Hill.
At 5.55pm yesterday a ten-year-old girl was approached by a man in Asquith Road who invited her back to his house.
The girl ran off and alerted her parents, who flagged down a passing police car.
A man from Oxford has been arrested on suspicion of attempting to take a child so as to remove him/her from a person having lawful control. He is now in police custody.
Investigating officer Det Sgt Matthew Jarman from Oxford CID said: “We take all allegations of this nature extremely seriously and are fully investigating these claims."
The incident is not being linked to a similar attempted abduction in Blackbird Leys last month.
