Sir – One lucky group of residents has the opportunity to jump to an electric future (Electric plans trundling along, May 23).
The search is under way to find ten neighbours to participate in an 18-month electric vehicle trial.
Off-road charging points will be installed free of charge and each address will be loaned a Nissan LEAF at a substantially subsidised monthly charge.
The trial will help to work out how the existing electricity supply will handle the charging needs of multiple electric vehicles on a street.
