A pedestrian has been taken to hospital this morning following a collision with a cyclist in Oxford.

South Central Ambulance said the accident happened at 8.20am outside the Royal Oxford Hotel in Frideswide Square.

Spokesman James Keating-Wilkes said: “Initially it was thought that a vehicle was involved, but there has been a collision between a cyclist and a pedestrian.

“A 50-year-old female cyclist was treated at the scene and the pedestrian was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford with unspecified injuries.”

Police, firefighters and ambulance staff attended the crash which caused delays for traffic in the area.
