A 56-year-old man was robbed with a knife as he walked near Donnington Bridge on Saturday.

Police said he was pulled down to the ground by his rucksack as he walked along a pathway off Weirs Lane at about 8.30pm.

Two men then crouched over him and threatened him with a knife, demanding he hand over money.

The victim, who was unharmed, handed over a small quantity of cash and they left on bicycles, riding away from the city.

One was white, about 30, 5ft 9ins, of slim build, clean shaven with dry skin and with greying brown short hair and a pointed jawline.

He was wearing a plain grey long-sleeved sweatshirt and blue denim jeans.

The other was white, in his late 20s, 5ft 7ins, slim with dark brown wavy hair, a rounded face, acne with scabs around his mouth and wearing a plain pale blue sweatshirt.
