A 17-year-old suffered facial injuries and concussion after being robbed.
The victim was walking along a cycle path near Blackbird Leys Road when he was attacked by three youths at about 10.30am on Tuesday.
The attackers, who stole the victim’s mobile phone, were described as between 16 and 18 years old.
A 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of assault and released on bail until July 22.
Det Con Darren Pomroy said: “This was a completely unprovoked attack on a man as he walked along a cycle path in Cowley.”
