Thames Water was unable to fully re-open a main city centre street yesterday on time following a leak from a water main.
The company had hoped to reopen St Aldate’s opposite Oxford Crown Court yesterday morning, but there was a delay in getting resurfacing materials to the site.
The work to replace part of a broken 18-inch cast iron pipe finished on Wednesday.
Spokesman Craig Rance said: “We are sorry for the delay and any inconvenience this may cause.”
