ICE hockey players Joe Edwards and Ricky Young visited charity SpecialEffect to launch a year-long partnership.
The pair, both 23, from Oxford City Stars, visited the Charlbury-based charity to meet staff and try out some of the special equipment that helps disabled people play computer games.
Mr Edwards, the team’s forward, said: “SpecialEffect is the perfect charity for us to collaborate with.”
The team, based at Oxford Ice Rink in Oxpens Road, will support the charity in a variety of ways during the 2013/14 season, including advertising it at home games, through social media, getting involved with community events and generating publicity.
James Schall, Stars head of marketing and sponsorship said: “We love how the awesome work SpecialEffect does lets people compete and have fun via video games without physical limitations.
“The benefits of enabling play are hugely important in on-going care and recovery across all ages and disabilities.”
Nick Street, fundraiser for SpecialEffect, said: “We are delighted the Oxford City Stars are supporting us.”
