I DON’T understand the council and social services.
I have a friend who has worked all his life but he is now retired and he has also got Alzheimer’s. He has to walk with a frame and he has fallen over a number of times.
His wife has been trying for a considerable time to get a shower and a bathroom built on the back of the house but it seems no one is in a rush to help him.
The family have to struggle to get her husband upstairs for a shower but social services says they are not allowed to do this because of health and safety. So how on earth is he going to get a shower? The council should build this shower and bedroom and allow him some quality of life and not wait for him to die, so they won’t have to build it. The council can always find the money for anything they want to do, but they keep saying they haven’t got the money to help my friend. It’s really out of order.
