Sir – I appreciate your publishing my letter last week about the once-in-a-century opportunity for a new station at Oxpens , but am puzzled by your choice of illustration.
This appears to be of the old proposal for a south-facing bay platform on the station car park, dropped some time ago by Network Rail.
Could we perhaps persuade architect Sir Nicholas Grimshaw to move up the line from the fine (though currently unused) Eurostar international terminal at Waterloo, and the new station at Reading, to give us something equally inspiring at Oxford, if on a smaller scale?
