WALLINGFORD’S Carnival Princess has been chosen to lead the parade during the town’s big celebration next month.
Nine-year-old Caitlin Acreman, of Beeching Road, Wallingford, was selected from five candidates hoping to be crowned at the town’s George Hotel on Saturday.
She will travel in a donkey and trap at the head of the procession, along with fellow finalists Olivia Webb and Finley Young, both 10, during the carnival on Saturday, June 15.
The Fir Tree Primary School pupil said: “I’m looking forward to it a lot.
“It is going to be quite nice, because I’ve always wanted to get all the attention.”
Her mum Lisa, 29, said: “We’re very proud. It’s every little girl’s dream to get dolled up and wave to a crowd.”
