Part of a dual carriageway was closed yesterday after trees knocked down a power line.
Initially the right-hand lane of the eastbound A40 was closed from 1.40pm near its junction with the B4027, near Wheatley. The whole carriageway was then closed from around 6pm while Scottish and Southern Electric workers repaired the damage and cut back trees.
Up to 20 houses were affected by power cuts.
