AN unusual combination of Daleks and dancing helped revellers celebrate 60 years of Bicester’s Highfield Social Club.
The club, in George Street, celebrated its diamond anniversary over the weekend, with a Doctor Who convention and Dalek show, lots of live music and family fun.
The Highfield was established after a street party for the Queen’s Coronation in June 1953 had to be moved into a nearby Scout hut because of the weather.
The event was such a success, residents teamed up to create a community facility for the area, and the social club was formed.
Club treasurer Ian Peake said: “We had a cracking weekend, a lot of fun.”
