TWO weeks and more than 200 miles after they set off, two riders have completed a Civil War-themed odyssey across England.
Dianne Godfrey, 64, right, and her 52-year-old sister Jo Morgan wore full period costume as they travelled from a battle site in Bude to their homes in Charney Bassett, near Faringdon.
Starting on May 10 they reached their destination, the Lord Wantage Memorial on the Ridgeway, on Saturday, having faced bad weather as they visited other Civil War battle sites along the way. They have raised more than £200 so far for the British Red Cross. Dianne said: “We are very glad we did it. The Red Cross is a very good cause, they will help anyone in crisis anywhere.”
