An unlucky mayfly is about to have its one-day lifespan cut even shorter as a hungry black-headed gull swoops.
Photographer George Reszeter captured this moment at Bablock Hythe by the River Thames on Wednesday.
Mr Reszeter, who lives in Wootton near Abingdon, said: “I was watching black-headed gulls and it was only when I got back home I could see they were catching mayflies.”
