A JUDGE has warned two teenagers to make their first court appearance their last.
Craig Wiltshire, of Brookside Estate, Chalgrove, and a 15-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, admitted robbing Lewis Clarke of an iPhone 5.
The teenagers were part of a group who drove to Sutton Courtenay Tyre Garage in High Street, Sutton Courtenay, on January 17.
Mr Clarke was with another group who met the youngsters at the garage.
One of Mr Clarke’s group grabbed some cannabis from Wiltshire, 18, and ran away, the court heard.
Wiltshire chased the group, caught Mr Clarke and held him in a headlock while the 15-year-old took his iPhone, said Merril Hughes, prosecuting. The mugging was reported to police by Mr Clarke, who suffered bruising to his face.
Benjamin Long, defending both teenagers, said: “This was not a planned attack that was pre-meditated by any of these young men.”
Sentencing, Judge Ian Pringle said: “You are at the beginning of your adult lives – make sure this is your one and only appearance before a court such as this.”
Wiltshire was given a one-year community order which includes 30 hours at an attendance centre and 80 hours unpaid work.
The 15-year-old received a referral order for 12 months.
