TWO masked robbers have held up a Cowley newsagents at gun point.
The men entered Hackett’s in Garsington Road at about 6.55am today and demanded money from a member of staff, before producing a gun. <<9/5>>
They stole cash and cigarettes before fleeing the scene possibly, police said, in a green car. No shots were fired.
The first robber was described as Asian, about 6ft tall, of medium build and in his mid-thirties. The second was described as of similar height and build. Both were wearing balaclavas and dark clothing.
Detective Sergeant Rhian Evans, investigating officer, said: “I would like to reassure members of the public that incidents such as these are very rare.
“If anyone has any information about the incident I would urge them to contact the police immediately."
