CONTROVERSIAL housing plans that would increase the size of Southmoor by 10 per cent should be approved despite going against policy, a council officer has said.
Vale of White Horse District Council planning officer David Rothery has recommended that 98 homes proposed for Draycott Road should be given planning permission.
Members of the council's planning committee members will be asked to make a decision tomorrow on plans by Taylor Wimpey and the Heathfield Trust.
And in Sutton Courtenay plans for 34 new homes have been recommended for approval, despite 109 objections.
Pye Homes wants to develop land north of Milton Road for 13 four-bedroom; eight three-bedroom and 13 two-bedroom homes, of which nine would be affordable. A decision is due tomorrow.
