I think this proves that birds do use their brains to their advantage.
My wife had placed some stale dry cream crackers on the bird table, shortly after an inquisitive magpie started pecking the crackers to find them unpalatable.
Later the enterprising magpie returned to carry the crackers and drop them in the water of the bird bath.Then, after about 10 minutes, it came back to gobble up the now softened crackers.
More intelligence than some of our MPs.
