A CONSULTATION on plans that could give greater protection to under-threat Oxford Stadium closes today.
Oxford City Council is seeking views on whether to include the Sandy Lane facility on its Heritage Assets Register.
Galliard Homes wants to flatten the 1939 stadium for 220 homes and councillors would have to consider the register when making a decision.
It was closed in December by operator the Greyhound Racing Association after it lost the hosting of a key weekly event.
Labour MP for Oxford East Andrew Smith has joined a group condemning the housing plans.
Residents in East Oxford, Summertown, West Oxford and Blackbird Leys have been given the chance to identify heritage assets in their neighbourhood.
The register includes buildings, parks and gardens that are valued by the public but do not have the protection of specialist legislation.
The consultation closes at midnight.
