After all the back-slapping and congratulations to the successful candidates in the county council elections on May 2, I feel it would be pertinent to put the results into perspective.
Alongside each ward result it would be helpful if the number of eligible electorate who chose to abstain rather than vote was published.
This would provide a sobering thought for the newly elected representatives.
I hope the low turnout will effect a change in attitude for all local councillors to show support and humanity for the requirements of their ward.
