ELDERLY residents and staff at a care home were thrilled to listen to their charity single, which will raise funds for Contact the Elderly.

Ferendune Court care home staff members Mark Nutt and Vanessa Pryor recorded the song, called See Yourself, as part of the Anchor Care Home Community Band.

They were helped in rehearsals by members of the band at the Faringdon care home, including Gladys Fisher, 93, and Doreen King, 86.

The song was recorded by staff and residents at 12 Anchor care homes across the UK.

Carer Mark said: “It was such an honour to be part of this project.

“It’s a really powerful song, because the words are telling people we’re all exactly the same as each other but some are just a bit older. It’s also very catchy.”

The single is available to pre-order online ahead of its Amazon and iTunes release on June 8.
