PUPILS at the village primary school presented two nights of Victorian music hall in 1973. Boys appeared in colourful waistcoats and high collars and with sideburns and moustaches, and the girls in long dresses and large hats. In the picture immediately below, some of the cast watch Dick Turpin (Clive Wearing) and the Lawyer (David Fleet) at rehearsal.

Pupils helped to create a nature reserve in the school grounds in 1988 so that they could study birds and insects and watch wild flowers and grasses. Ben Martin, Matthew Fletcher, Debbie Wickson, Stefan Hale and Gareth Davies, all nine, are seen hard at work in the middle picture.

Children attended a party to mark the closure of the old village school in 1972. The building in Church Road had opened in 1837. Pupils transferred to a new school in Park Road.
