MEMBERS of an Oxford painting club have seen the fruits of their labour go on show at the 03 Gallery at Oxford Castle.
The ten members of the Hudson House Art Group meet once a month to share tips and critique each other’s efforts.
They work under the watchful eye of Kent art teacher Norman Rechter.
He said: “Their work is unbelievable.
“The oldest is in their 90s and our youngsters are in their 50s, but the vitality is unbelievable. I don’t teach by demonstration, that is the worst way. I do it by constructive criticism.”
Philippa Redman, of St Clement’s, Oxford, contributed floral watercolour Late Summer.
The 67-year-old, who has honed her craft in the last two decades, said: “I can see progress through the years.”
The part-time English teacher added: “You learn things from the other members. They look at your paintings and criticise them and tell you things that help you.”
The exhibition closes tomorrow. The gallery is open from 11am to 4pm this weekend.
