Didcot Town saw off Chippenham 3-1 after extra time in their FA Trophy 2nd qualifying round replay on Tuesday to book a home tie against Newport County on November 25.

Extra-time goals from Stuart Beavon and Jamie Brooks did the trick after the teams had finished level at 1-1.

Beavon it was who got the home side off to a great start as he poked them ahead on nine minutes.

The rest of the half was even, with Chris Webb saving superbly from Alan Griffin, and Chris Snoddy denying Paul Powell.

Chippenham, who play a level higher than Didcot in the Southern League, levelled 15 minutes after the break through leading scorer Dave Gilroy, who chipped Webb from outside the box.

Neither side could find the killer goal after 90 minutes, but Didcot called the tune in extra time.

A deflected Brooks shot made it 2-1 with ten minutes left, and Beavon's calm finish completed a famous victory.

Didcot: Webb, Heapy, Bedwell. Campbell (Weatherstone 57), Green (Wickens 52), Parrott, Jack, King, Brooks (Hannigan 116), Beavon, Powell.
