WE would like to echo Jim Young’s sentiments (Viewpoints, December 18) congratulating all those involved in Oxfordshire’s primary schools obtaining record Key Stage 2 results, the product of many years of hard work.
In particular, we would like to thank all the wonderful ARCh Reading Helpers who work one-to-one with children in primary schools across the county, imparting a love of reading, the key to successful learning.
Since ARCh was set up almost five years ago, the number of volunteers has doubled to 240 and the charity now supports around 700 Oxfordshire children. More volunteers are needed, however.
