THE shopping footfall figures for Oxford paint a confusing picture.

On one hand the number of shoppers visitng the Westgate Centre compared to this time last is marginally up, while footfall at Templars Retail Park is marginally down. With ongoing increases in the cost of living and more people than ever shopping online it is perhaps not a surprise.

What is clear is that we must support our local traders. For any city to thrive, it needs a buoyant economy.
