At Leslie Belcher’s funeral today there will be many, many people of all ages and all walks of life, due to the respect they all had for him.

He was a man with a big personality and a big heart who would stick up for people that couldn’t stick up for themselves. Granted, this sometimes got him into trouble.

He was one of the few local genuine Oxford people left in the city. He was always polite and helpful to the elderly and loved by many of them, even going into a local coffee morning regularly for a cuppa with his mother and her friends.

He didn’t care what people thought of him. He was an individual, not a sheep and I for one applaud him and am proud to say I knew him.
