PUPILS are to carry out energy audits in schools across Oxfordshire in a bid to help the environment and save money.
As part of EDF Energy’s Switch Off Fortnight, which starts on Monday, pupils will be challenged to switch off lights and unused electrical appliances, and track power use in the classroom and at home.
Charts encouraging a competitive element to the drive have been issued to the 46 schools across the county which have signed up.
Pupils will also have worksheets to take home to help family members reduce their energy consumption and adopt good habits.
