AFTER a three-week spell in ward 15 urology, at the Churchill Hospital in 2005, and another 10 weeks earlier this year in ward 6JF at the JR Hospital, my granddaughter Melissa was so impressed at the the very high standard of treatment I had received – plus my own determination to get better – that she wanted me to nominate a charity for her to perform a sky-dive, in recognition.
My choice was DUO (Department of Urology Oxford), whom I have supported in recent years. On Saturday, November 3, my son Chris and his wife Sharon took me and my husband Mike to Hinton airfield in Northamptonshire to watch Melissa perform her brave and daring sky-dive.
We are so proud of Melissa, who is only 19 years old, for such an achievement.
In due course, a cheque will be given to the Duo charity.
