Villagers planted an oak tree to mark the Queen’s Silver Jubilee in 1977. It was planted in the churchyard by Pansy Spearing, who chaired the village jubilee committee.
Pupils at the village school worked hard in the classroom, but had plenty of time to enjoy themselves in the playground.
