ACTOR Timothy West took a break from treading the boards at the Oxford Playhouse and tried his hand at teaching.
The actor had been appearing in The Handyman but was then joined by his wife Prunella Scales in leading a drama workshop for the homeless at the Old Fire Station in George Street, Oxford.
He said: “Prunella and I were delighted to be invited to lead this drama workshop.
“It was great fun to read in with the actors; I was pleased to hear their thoughts on The Handyman and even more pleased that they had enjoyed the play.”
The Old Fire Station is home to homelessness charity Crisis Skylight Oxford, which runs a weekly drama workshop.
Annie, a regular at the drama workshop, said: “I loved the session, I couldn’t believe it when they said we would be getting a visit from the actor in The Handyman.
“It was a brilliant play and reading it with Tim was a very theatrical experience.”
