ONCE again, another Government quango – police commissioners. We have a Chief Constable, Government inspectors and a Chief Inspector of Constabulary, plus police authorities and the Home Office.
The new post will cost us £85,000 pa. No doubt there will be a Chief Supt, as a liaison officer, and they will need a back-up department. £85,000 would pay for four constables.
Who will pay – the good old taxpayer again! No doubt the commissioner will be influenced by their political leanings.
