You were a great headmaster at bays water middle school in the late 1970s, rest in peace sir.

Finest teacher I ever knew. Saved my maths in the late 70s and taught me how to learn effectively. An amazing man who never forgot former pupils or their parents, greeting all with a cheery hello in Headington decades after teaching them. So sad at this news. God Bless Sir, rest peacefully.

Mr Munday taught me at Baywater in the late seventies. An insprirational character and a man of huge integreity and decency. I'll always remember him.

David Munday taught me at New Marston County Primary School back in the 1950s and I have never forgotten him. He was an excellent teacher, and as they say, one never forgets. I have just completed writing a book and I am going to dedicate it to David. My condolences to family and friends

I remember Mr Munday well and its over 48 years ago that he taught me at Blackbird Leys Primary. What a great teacher he was and if I talk about school days his name always crops up in the conversation. He was also very good with chalk and a ruler!!

Thank you to all of you for your lovely comments. Rowdy, the Herman Munday at Temple Cowley was my grandfather. He's referred to in the article about my dad in today's Oxford Mail (the title starts 'Dedicated Oxford teacher...').

Brilliant teacher and a wonderful man, he taught me nearly 60 years ago and if you ever met him in Headington he greeted you by your name without hesitation. He could name all childrens faces he tought in his book of photo's and I remember he was a cracking shot with a piece of chalk.
