A train company is offering free journeys to all customers who share their name with our longest reigning monarch.

The Chinnor and Princes Risborough Railway (C&PRR) is offering free train rides to all those named Elizabeth or Elisabeth in celebration of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

The special offer is available on Friday, June 3 and Sunday, June 5, when steam and classic diesel locomotives hauling their 1950s carriages will operate services throughout the day between Chinnor and Princes Risborough mainline station.

C&PRR Chairman Stanley Hart said: “We are delighted to be able to celebrate with Her Majesty and offer free travel to those who share the royal name.

“And what’s more, children under 16 years also travel for just £1 on the above dates too.”
